VEX WORLDS 2022

At the end of each season, Vex Robotics hosts the World Championship which includes only the most elite robotics teams. This year, 3/3 WestMech teams qualified for worlds! Over 1300 teams competed in the tournament, and our teams brought back some victories whilst representing Canada on the Worlds stage!

Team 210Y had a record of 9-1-0 (W-L-T) and ranked 2nd in their division out of 80 teams. They were seeded 1st in playoffs and made it to the semifinals where they lost due to an unfortunate robot tip. Additionally, they took home the Amaze Award for robot design, Promote Online Challenge Award and the Google Online Community Challenge Award. The Promote Online Challenge and Google Online Community Challenge awards have a combined financial value of $2000 CAD. These 3 awards makes 210Y the team that brought home the most trophies out of all competing teams!

Team 2088Z had a record of 4-6-0 and ranked 31st in their division out of 80 teams. 2088Z technically qualified for the middle school division, however they wanted to prove themselves against better teams in the high school division. They were placed in the hardest division, but proved themselves against some of the most elite teams!

Team 2088F had a record of 9-1-0, topping their division and earning them 1st out of 82 teams! Unfortunately, they lost in the Round of 16 in playoffs. Additionally, they were awarded with the Energy Award for being the most enthusiastic and energetic team at the tournament!

We are very proud of all 3 of our teams and are excited for the upcoming season! Do your best!
