Club Teams

Western Mechatronics offers a club team program where students from Junior High or High Schools can compete in VEX tournaments! There are 3 tiers offered for the club teams: Black, Blue and White. These tiers are determined by the level of commitment and skill of the team.

Black Teams

Black teams are the most skilled and most committed club teams at WestMech. They represent the best and most competitive teams at WestMech. Students typically come to the WestMech workshop 3 times a week to work on their robots. However, in crunch times (i.e. before a major tournament) teams come into the workshop up to 5 times a week. There are currently 2 black teams at WestMech. To read more about these teams and their achievements, click below.

Blue Teams

Blue teams are the next tier of commitment and skill for the club teams. Many teams will start as blue teams, but can be promoted to black teams if they prove themselves. Students come into the workshop 2 times a week to work on their robots. Like the black teams, they are also subject to coming to the workshop more frequently when times are stressful. There are currently 2 blue teams at WestMech. To read more about these teams and their achievements, click below.

White Teams

White teams are the lowest tier of commitment and skill for the club teams. While these teams begin as the least committed and skilled, they can still work up to the higher tiers by showing commitment and growth in skill. Students come into the workshop once a week to work on their robots. There are currently no white teams at WestMech. However, you can read more about previous white teams and their achievements by clicking below.
